Bree-Galbally WINTER FUN RUN/WALK
Bree Youth Club will be holding a winter Fun Run/Walk in aid of the Wexford Women’s and Men’s Refuge on December 30@ 1 p.m. We have a 10k for €5 and a 5k for €3 on offer for participants. Registration is from 11.45 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. in Bree Community Centre before the event. A great family day out with some lovely spot prizes on the day.
BREE PARISH JOURNAL
Bree Parish Journal No 18 is now on sale. The journal covers many of the events and activities in the area over the past two years as well as a number of items of historical interest. The cost of the journal is €8 and it is available in Byrnes Bree, Keeleys Ballybrennan, Londis Tomnalosset, Mace Killurin, Kavanaghs and Greenes Clonroche, Freeman’s Oylegate and also in the Bookshops in Enniscorthy and Wexford.
BREE MACRA
Happy New Year from Bree Macra. The club had a very successful year with a big jump in membership and in participation. Club members continue to take part in weekly sports nights on Wednesday (Volleyball in Galbally) ad Friday (Indoor soccer in Enniscorthy). Bree represented the county in various National Competitions such as public speaking, gaelic football, capers, quiz and soccer. At Easter we hosted our senior citizens Tea Party. The highlight of the year was the ladies winning the all-Ireland Indoor Soccer Title.
Upcoming events for the club include Volleyball, Debating, Capers and the Personality weekends. Club members want to thank everyone who has supported the club throughout the year, a special thank you to Dicey Reillys Puerto del Carmen for sponsoring new club jerseys. Anyone interested in getting involved with the club is welcome to come along to any of our events or check us out on Facebook.
SMART FITNESS
Christmas Timetable available on Facebook page ‘Smart Fitness with Collette’ Classes will finish after Thursday, December 21, class and restart Wednesday the 27th (time TBC) and Friday the 29th at 11 a.m. Classes will resume Tuesday, January 2, at 7 p.m.

Mass Times: Sunday morning Mass in Caim is celebrated at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays at 9.30 a.m.

There was a good attendance at the recent montly meeting held in the community centre. Condolences was send to the Flood Family, Clonroche on the death of Seán. The guild are having their annual Christmas Dinner in Whitford house Hotel on Saturday night. They would like to wish all their members a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.
SCOR NA NÓG
Huge congratulations to our Scor na nÓg competitors at the Leinster semi-final last week. Aoibhinn Cooper (Recitation and Figure Dancing) and Lisa Murphy, Nathan McDonald, Cormac Cooper, Aoife Fleming, Caoimhe Quigley, Bridin Quigley and Phena Quigley (Figure Dancing) all qualified and go on to represent Cloughbawn and Wexford in the Leinster Final.
The Leinster Final takes place on Sunday, January 14, at 3 p.m. in the National Opera House, Wexford. We would encourage everyone to make use of the home advantage and come along and support our young, talented members. The event makes for a great afternoon’s entertainment and the talent on show is excellent.
The tickets are on sale and are selling very quickly. €10 for adults and €5 for children. They increase in price after Christmas so book early.

CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS.
Congratulations to Cloughbawn’s Minor team who lifted the trophy on December 17 at Castleboro, after winning their county final against Castletown. The girls got off to a great start and maintained their lead throughout the game, it came close at one stage with Castletown getting a goal to bring them within a few points, but Cloughbawn responded straight away and score a matching goal, Full time score was 2-16 to 1-6.

VINTAGE CLUB RUN
The annual road run to Aughyvoiur will take place on St Stephen’s Day leaving Clonroche at 1 p.m., registration at 12.30, Proceeds from this year’s run will be in aid of Meals on Wheels.
SYMPATHY
The death has occurred of Paddy Collins Clonroche, on Tuesday, December 19, Paddy, son of the late Dermot and Mona was removed to Cloughbawn on Wednesday evening and his funeral Mass took place on Thursday with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. He will be missed by his brother Larry, sister-in-law Nora, nephews Dermot and Luke, niece Niamh, relatives and and a wide circle of friends.

Kiltealy-Ballindaggin DUFFRY ROVERS
Duffry Rovers GAA Club held a meeting in the club rooms, Coolree on Monday night last week to confirm appointments for the club for 2018.
Johnny Nevin the former Carlow hurler, footballer and Railway Cup player was appointed the new hurling and football trainer and selector for 2018.
Tom Pender will take on intermediate hurling and Luke Smith intermediate football, he will be joined by two former members of the Duffry Rovers ‘7 in a row’ team John Casey and Kevin Frayne. The club would like wish one and all a very happy New Year 2018.

The County Wexford Community Workshop, Belfield are holding their annual church gate collection in Kiltealy and Ballindaggin next weekend Saturday and Sunday, December 30 and 31. Every cent will remain in the workshop to be used for the benefit of all the service users. A permit has been granted by An Garda Síochána. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
DANGEROUS CROSSING
A petition to have the ‘ Big Bridge’ junction outside Kiltealy village on the Enniscorthy road modified is in local shops and Church porches. Please put you name to this petition if you have not already done so to get the immediate attention of Wexford county council. The junction is a hazardous crossing and since last writing there has been yet another accident there.

CASTLEDOCKRELL CEMETERY
Following new regulations by Wexford County Council these are the guidelines for burials in Castledockrell Cemetery (and all other cemeteries owned by Wexford County Council).
No burials can take place on a Sunday. Burials on the other days – Funerals must arrive at cemetery gate by 2 p.m. which means the latest time a Funeral Mass may be celebrated is midday.
For further information or any queries please contact Wexford County Council. Please note these rules do not apply to Marshalstown Cemetery.
