ACTIVE RETIREMENT AGM

The first social of the New Year of Bree ARI will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, We will be holding our AGM so we expect a full attendance. Insurance fees will be taken up at this meeting. With all business done we will have our bingo and tea. Hope that all our members had an enjoyable Christmas and we wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year.

BALLYHOGUE GAA

Cycle 22km/Kayak 1km/Cycle 4km and Forest Trail Run 6.5km takes place on February 3. For further informatio­n and registrati­on see Ballyhogue GAA Facebook. Prizes €300 prize money for best male and female.

MACRA NEWS

Best wishes to Bree Macra Capers team which take part in the all-Ireland semifinal on this Saturday, January 19, in Mountmelli­ck, registrati­on is at 7 p.m. for the team. The Bree show is the first show to perform on stage.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Community Games County Events begin on January 27 with the Co Draughts taking place in Bree. Anyone interested in Chess, handball, Badminton or Indoor Soccer should contact area secretary at 087 4151350 as closing dates are due shortly.

Chess and Draughts – Bree-Davidstown Cloughbawn Community Games Chess and Draughts has resumed after the Christmas break from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. in Bree Hall. All children from eight years to 16 years are welcome. Cost is €2 per child to a maximum of €4 per family. The Co Draughts takes place in Bree on January 27.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Bree Parish Journal No 18 is now on sale. The journal covers many of the events and activities in the area over the past two years as well as a number of items of historical interest. The cost of the journal is €8 and it is available in Byrnes Bree, Keeleys Ballybrenn­an, Londis Tomnalosse­t, Mace Killurin, Kavanaghs and Greenes Clonroche, Freeman’s Oylegate and also in the Bookshops in Enniscorth­y and Wexford.

BREE AC

Training continues each Monday and Wednesday evenings in lower field in Ballyhogue GAA Grounds at 7 p.m. for registered members of Bree AC Indoor Training will resume in Bree Community Centre on this Thursday, January 11, at 7 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. for U5 to under-10 and from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Bree AC registered members.
