Family is at the Heart of Wexford Home Preserves

-

ORIGINALLY set up by Tom’s aunt Ellen, Wexford Home Preserves is a family business that takes the idea of supporting small family businesses a step further.

Renowned for the efforts they go to in search of local ingredients for their award winning products, when it came to making their limited edition marmalade, the Sinnott family went even further.

Laura and Tom took a research trip to Spain to find the growers of the best organic Seville oranges, famous for the flavour they bring to marmalade.

They found the family run Ave Maria orange farm, a specialist organic orangery in operation since 1867.

This is the second year of visiting and working with José and Amadora at Ave Maria orange farm for the artisan preserves makers.

This week sees the launch of the Wexford Home Preserves limited edition Marmalade Season Celebration range, dreamed up to mark the high season of the best loved of the marmalade oranges, the Seville.

Exclusive varieties, which will be on the shelves of select food retailers from 15th February include: Traditional Seville Orange Blood Orange Clementine

Orange and Strawberry Gin In addition, Wexford Home Preserves Irish Whiskey Marmalade, Irish Poitín Marmalade, Grapefruit Marmalade, Orange and Ruby Marmalade, Three Fruit Marmalade will be available.

The marmalade range are all made by hand using the open pot boiling method in small batches with all pips being removed by hand and used to make natural pectin to help the marmalades to set.
