WexfordWomen’sCup

St. Joseph’s 5, Kilmore United 0: The home side bounced back from last week’s defeat to overcome Division 1 side Kilmore United in the Wexford Cup and book a home game against Fastnet Rovers next Sunday.

St. Joseph’s were always in control in this game and two goals from Johanna Walshe as well as one each from Kelsey Reid, Tracey McCormack and Sarah Mangan gave them a 5-0 win.

Fastnet Rovers 2, Cushinstown A.F.C. 0: Fastnet eventually booked their place in the last 16 of the cup when they overcame Cushinstown 2-0, but found the visitors’ ’keeper in fine form as she pulled off several vital saves.

Goals from Eadaoin Miskella and Renata eventually saw the home side through to a second round meeting away to St. Joseph’s.

Shelburne United 1, Bree United 4: Bree travelled to Ballywilliam and overcame the home side 4-1 to book their place in the second round where they will host Adamstown next Sunday.

Chloe Byrne scored for Shelburne but goals from Coley Furlong, Emma Buckley, Clara Rossiter and Aoibh Lewis saw the Division 1 side through.

Women’sPremierOne

Camolin Celtic 1, Ferns United 7: This game was much closer than the scoreline suggests as Camolin were very competitive for long periods but eventually could not handle the firepower of the Premier side.

Ferns led 1-0 at the break but were much more clinical in the second-half despite the home side’s best efforts to stem their attack.

Caroline Murphy did score a consolation goal from the home side but two goals each from Liz Evered, Leona Breen and Aoife Devereux plus an own goal gave Ferns an important three points.

Women’sDivision2A/2B

Courtown Hibs 3, Corach Ramblers 2: A 92nd-minute goal from Marian Cardiff saw Courtown snatch a vital victory that moved them into second place in the division and kept the pressure on leaders Forth Celtic.

Marian gave Hibs the lead on the 20-minute mark but Corach bounced back to go in 2-1 ahead at half-time thanks to goals from Sal Eustace and Niamh Miller.

Leonie Gleeson levelled for the home side just 15 minutes into the second-half and the game looked to be heading for a draw until Marian scored her second two minutes into injury time.

Women’sDivision3

Stoney L.F.C. 3, Wexford Bohs 1: Stoney made it eight wins from eight games and although they can still be caught in the race for the title, they are really piling the pressure on the chasing pack by not slipping up.

Goals from Sinéad Walsh, Caroline Butler-Hallissey and Lisa Marie Doyle saw them overcome Wexford Bohs 3-1.

Denise Leniston was on target for the visitors.
