Cushinstown end United’s unbeaten run

Division3

Leaders Enniscorthy United suffered their first defeat of the season when they lost out 3-2 to Cushinstown on Sunday.

The table-toppers trailed 2-0 inside the opening 20 minutes and, although they drew level through a Jamie Fox penalty and a late Barry Nolan strike, Cushinstown pounced for an injury time winner.

Nicky Sinnott netted a double and Jason Dunne grabbed the other goal for the visitors.

Duncannon chalked up a comprehensive 8-1 win over Ajax Athletic, with Keith Donnelly and Aaron Curry both scoring doubles and Alex Clarke, Mikie Foley, Devin Wall-Walsh and Mikie O’Grady adding a goal apiece

Noel Roche bagged a hat-trick for Bree United as they overcame Forth Celtic 4-1, with Enda Minogue grabbing their other goal and Anthony Hayes replying.

Elsewhere, Enniscorthy Town collected three points thanks to a 3-1 triumph over Gorey Rangers.

Division3A

Rathnure continue to lead the way in Division 3A after seeing off Shelburne 4-1 on Sunday.

Anthony Westnott (penalty), Paul Murphy, M.J. Murphy and Liam Barron got the goals for the leaders.

Wexford Albion are hot on their heels and they were much too good for Rosbercon, winning 6-1 with doubles from Kyle Mann and Shane Bergin, with Liam O’Connor and Ben Butler adding a goal apiece.

Rosslare Strand earned the local bragging rights when seeing off Rosslare Rangers 3-1, with Garret O’Brien, Conor Clancy and James Murphy scoring for the winners and Barry Quirke replying.

Division4

Wexford Bohs maintained their 100 per cent record in Division 4 but it took a late winner against Camolin to maintain their flawless form.

Robbie O’Connor, Aaron Walsh and Mick Murphy got the goals for the Drinagh outfit.

All Blacks continue to lead the way in the division, having played four more games than Bohs, and on Sunday they saw off Castledockrell 5-1, thanks to a Mark Doyle hat-trick and goals from Shane Goff and Seán Kehoe.

Mark O’Connor (two) and Barry Redmond got the goals for Curracloe United as the won 3-1 in Caim.

Ferns United also picked up three points, thanks to a 4-0 away win over The Ballagh.

Division4A

Glynn Barntown moved a step closer to the title when overcoming Gorey Celtic on Sunday.

Rioghan Crosbie (penalty), John Lacey and Shane Wilde got the goals for the leaders, with Greg O’Rourke and Mark Tyndall replying for the north county side.

Division5

Kiltealy Celtic maintained their three-point advantage at the top of Division 5 after a 6-0 win over Cushinstown on Sunday.

Second-place St. Leonards overwhelmed Stoney Rovers 9-2, with Matty Flynn scoring six, Conor Tighe adding a double and Seamie Kehoe getting their other goal.

David Doyle, Martin Flynn, Colm O’Loughlin, Dara Cahill (two), Tom Sinnott and Brian Malone got the goals for Killenagh Wanderers in their 7-4 win in Camolin, with Paul Carton hitting a hat-trick for the hosts and Patrick Carton adding their other goal.

Dean Fortune bagged a hat-trick for St. Cormac’s in their 4-2 win over Adamstown, with Martin Kane getting their other goal and Ian White and Stephen Power replying.

Elsewhere Enniscorthy Town beat Bree United 5-0, while Ferns United saw off New Ross Town 2-0.
