The Pious Hen Takeaway opened its doors for the first time in August 2017 and owners Dean and Jenni Westlake, who recently relocated to Ireland from Zimbabwe, have made the location in Our Lady’s Island their home as well as their business.

Situated opposite the scenic Our Lady’s Island Lake, which is on the historic Norman Way route, the business is also close to Carne and St Margaret’s beaches. This small but unique food outlet has a particular focus on fresh Irish chicken dishes, but also offers other delicious home-made meals such as beef burgers, salads and bespoke vegetarian dishes.

Come and try the whole spit-roasted chicken with our famous Peri Peri sauce, or one of our favourites, the Chicken De Lux Burger – tender breaded chicken fillets layered with bacon and melted cheese.

We also cater for children with a designated choice of dishes, and the option of half portions from the main menu.

We are open out of season from 4.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while we are open six days a week during high season. Phone orders can be placed in advance.
