On Saturday, January 27, the under-12s were at home, taking on Bunclody, the favourites to win the division. At the end of a very exciting and entertaining game, they lost by 1-3 with Jack Turner getting out goal. At half time they trailed by 1-2 and pressed very hard in the second half for an equaliser, putting heavy pressure on the Bunclody defence. However, a quick breakaway goal near the end sealed the win for the visitors. The following day, Sunday the 28th. the ladies’ team lost to Adamstown by 0-2 in an enjoyable cup game. Rachel Breen, Claudia Doyle and Vivienne Gahan all came close to scoring but in the end the class of a top flight team saw Adamstown through to the next round.

The Men’s ‘A’ team were away to Crossabeg and went in at the break drawing 0-0. Before the game could resume the pitch was deemed unplayable and the game abandoned. The ‘B’ team were at home and beat Bree United by 5-0. A poor first half had the teams level at the break but turning on their undoubted talent, the Bs streaked ahead in the second half. Mark Walsh got a hat-trick while Dean Fortune and Pádraig Moran added the other two goals.
