RED GUITAR TOUR ROLLS INTO TOWN!
WHILE perhaps better known for his exploits as a writer and a playwright, Wexford’s Billy Roche is also an accomplished musician. In recent times, he has rekindled his love of music with his trademark red guitar, enlisted the help of some great musicians and set off around the place on what he dubs his ‘Red Guitar Tour’.
Billy made the journey North from his native Wexford to Enniscorthy recently for an intimate show at The Presentation Centre. On the night he was joined by his wonderful band consisting of the legendary Mike Odlum on bass and keyboards, with Pete McCamley on drums, percussion, flute and as Billy describes ‘a range of strange things’!
The trio filled the beautiful surroundings of The Presentation Centre with their own unique brand of psychedelic folk, showing a wonderful on-stage connection. The setlilst provided a great chance to take a sneak peak at the contents of the album which the trio are currently busy working on and are hoping to release in May. For more updates on the album and more live dates, keep an eye on the ‘Billy Roche - The Red Guitar Tour’ Facebook page.
