Kilanerin Community Alert invites you to Shamrock Hall Kilanerin on Thursday, March 8, at 8 p.m. guest speaker on the night will be Mr John Lonergan (former governor Mountjoy Prison) also in attendance will be Margaret Quinn (Muintire Na Tire) and members of the Garda Siochanna. Admission is free and everybody is welcome.
GAA CLUB NOTES
The Ballynastragh Gaels camogie AGM takes place on Friday the ninth at 8 p.m. in the Rock Hall. Please support the growing number of girls and ladies playing camogie.
The Duathalon (Cycling and running) takes place on Sunday the 11th. Please encourage the participants before, during and especially after, this grueling race.
Round one of the Hurling league takes place on Saturday the 10th with both teams playing in the Rock. The first team play Liam Mellows at 3 p.m. followed by the second team playing Buffers Alley at 4.30 p.m. Bring a sandwich.

Last call for names of any boy or girl in Kilanerin or the Rock, sixth class – fifth year, who would like to enter the draw for 66% sponsorship towards two weeks in Coláiste Laighan Gaeltacht. There are heavy penalties for any negative or abusive remarks towards players or referees by our, or visiting, spectators.
Please also note, that at underage, it is now policy NOT TO USE MOBILE PHONES IN ANY DRESSING ROOMS. If any underage player needs to make a call, it must be outside.
A ‘Draft Memorandums of understanding’ have been agreed between the Gaa, camogie association and ladies’ football, at national level. They seek to establish stronger links between the three, eventually filtering down to club level.
There was no jackpot winner in the lotto draw. There were three match-three winners. The numbers were 1, 3, 10 and 26. The next draw, for €4,100, takes place on Monday the 12th in Noels.
STTRICTLY COME DANCING
Well done to Tara Rocks, who put on a wonderful show on Saturday, February 24. Due to the weather, the Kilanerin semi-final in Strictly Come Dancing, had to be postponed till Saturday the 17th. The final is on Saturday the 24th.

There is a 45 Card drive in Murphys Kilanerin on Tuesday, March 6, at 9 p.m. all support greatly appreciated.
OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
Congratulations to everybody concerned with the running of the 29th Opportunity Knocks which came to an end on Friday, February 23. Overall Junior winner were Mad for trad music group Overall Senior winner were St Patrick’s GAA set dancing group and the audience award went to A Few Johnies.
