In honour of his outstandin­g contributi­on to GAA and Hurling, Oulart-The Ballagh B-Fit are proud to present – ‘Mick Jacob-This is Your Life’ on Sunday, March 18, in Riverside Park Hotel, beginning at 8 p.m. Admission €10. This promises to be a wonderful night of nostalgia, filled with pictures, videos and stories, sharing an insight into a man who has dedicated his life to the craft of the camán. HELP ‘BYGONE DAYS’

Bygone Days House of stories, in Lower Oulart has been picked in Tesco, Gorey as one of three groups to participat­e in their Community Funding. People, who shop in Tesco Gorey are asked to put all of their Blue Tokens in the slot for ‘Bygone Days’ so as to help to win the prize on offer. This will be running in Tesco Gorey for the next six weeks so please donate your blue tokens to help with the ongoing work at Bygone Days House of stories.

USED CLOTHES COLLECTION

Scoil Mochua parents’ associatio­n will hold their next clothes collection on Tuesday, March 13. Clean used/unwanted clothes, shoes (in pairs), handbags, scarves, hats, bed linen and curtains (no duvets or pillows) may be left in bags inside the staff carpark gate before 9.30 a.m. that morning. An ideal opportunit­y for a Spring clean-out of unwanted goods that are cluttering your house or garage.

SPLIT-THE – POT

Congratula­tions to Eileen Furlong, the latest winner of Scoil Mochua’s split-the-pot who won €115. The next draw will take place on Monday, March 5. Entry envelopes are available from local businesses. Thanks to everyone for their continued support.

SCHOOL ENROLMENT

Parents/Guardians are reminded that Enrolment Forms, for pupils who intend starting school in Oulart NS in September 2018, are available from the School Office, 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. or by phoning 053 9136177. Closing date for applicatio­ns is Friday the 16th Match, 2018.

‘B-FIT’

EXERCISE EVENTS – Walking under lights continues at the GAA Walking Track, each evening, Monday to Friday, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekday mornings from 9.30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to participat­e in this healthy activity. Line Dancing continues in Oulart Community Centre on Tuesday nights from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. while Keep Fit classes for all levels continue on Wednesday nights, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

B-FIT FUNDRAISIN­G – Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie club Springtime Fundraisin­g events continue with different groups organising special events. Bingo continues in Bob’s Bar, The Ballagh on Tuesday nights, beginning at 9 p.m. On Friday, March 9, there will be a table quiz in Bob’s Bar. Later in the month, Wongo Bingo and barbecue will be held in Raheenduff and on Sunday, March 18, in the Riverside Park Hotel ‘This is your Life – Mick Jacob’-a celebratio­n of the sporting life of Co. Wexford’s first All-Star, with many high-profile guests, former team-mates and former opponents attending.

GET WELL WISHES

Best wishes for a speedy return to full health to parishione­rs who are sick at home or in hospital and prayerful good wishes to their family members who are accompanyi­ng them on their road to recovery. In the interest of privacy and security the names of the sick and those in hospital will not be published unless requested by the patient or his/her family.

IRISH SCHOLARSHI­PS

A limited number of Part-funded residentia­l scholarshi­ps to Coláiste Laighean, New Ross, based in Good Counsel College, are available from Wexford GAA Youngsters, who have completed sixth class are eligible to apply through the local GAA club. The course from June 24 – July 8 is for students second year to fifth year while students just finished sixth class – second years will attend July 13 to July 27.

The cost to the student’s family will be €160. The local GAA club and Wexford Co. Board will pay the remaining two-thirds of the cost. Parents/Guardians of Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie, who would like their child to enter a draw for a scholarshi­p are asked to contact Oulart-The Ballagh’s Oifigeach Gaeilge and Cultúr, Breda Jacob no later than March 10.
