COMMUNITY ALERT AGM

The AGM of the Davidstown Community Alert will be held in the Millennium Bar in Davidstown on Friday, March 16, at 8 p.m.

This meeting is to discuss crime prevention in the area and the establishment of a community operated mobile alert system. Fundraising initiatives and election of committee members and volunteers will also take place.

Previously, the text alert system was run through the Gardaí but it has now been proposed to change this to a community-based alert system. This will be run by the community, for the community. It is hoped that this new system will deliver relevant messages in a timely fashion in order to tackle the growing problem of rural crime.

Representatives from Muintir Na Tire and An Garda Síochána will also be in attendance. Committee members from similar organisations in towns lands adjoining Davidstown have also been invited. Your attendance and support at this meeting would be greatly appreciated.

TESS JORDAN R.I.P.

Our deepest sympathies are extended to the family, relatives and friends of Mary (Tess) Jordan, Rathfylane, who passed away last week.
