WEATHER CAUSES HAVOC

The country was hit with continuous snow as the polar Siberia air, referred to as ‘the Beast from the East’ clashed with storm Emma last Thursday, March 1, and into Friday afternoon, sending the country into a total shut down.

All party, weddings and social events were also cancelled due to dangerours conditions. Freezing conditions plummetted below – 10 degrees and heavy snow falls coverd the county lasting only a few days, fortunately there was no reported accidents.

A big thank you to the Local Authorities, Defence Force, Emergency Services, local farmers, tractor drivers, digger drivers and those with jeeps, who helped out during the storm.
