Perfect attendance for these St Senan’s Pupils!

-

IT TAKES quite a bit of determination and a fair sprinkling of luck not to miss a single day in the school year. However, a total of 24 students at St Senan’s PS managed to accomplish that and were presented with certs to mark the achievement.

The determined bunch of students managed to complete the whole of the 2016/2017 year without missing a single day and Principal Oonagh Rackard was delighted to present them with their certificates in a special ceremony at the school.

‘Obviously a certain amount of luck is required to make it without missing a day as well,’ she said. ‘These students were lucky enough not to have been sick during the year as well. But great dedication was also shown and we were delighted to congratulate them on a wonderful achievement.’

Ms Rackard says that complete attendance has risen massively in recent years and it’s a positive trend that is great to see. ‘I remember a few years ago, there were just five students receiving these certificates,’ she said. ‘There has been a big improvement since then and hopefully it’s something that will continue going forward. Once again a big well done to the students and to their parents.’

The presentation of certificates capped off a busy time for the school which also saw it celebrate 40 years in the local community recently
