Leader Bernadette gives back to Hope & Dream

-

THE INFECTIOUS good will that is associated with the annual Hope & Dream 10 started early this year as race leader Bernadette Kehoe held a promotional event and craft fair to raise awareness for the event.

All monies raised from the event are set to cover the cost of wrist bands for the race, with any additional money put towards other race costs.

The fair was held in the Astro Active Centre from 2 to 6 p.m. and featured a variety of items that were available to purchase on the day, as well as a raffle with some spectacular prizes.

Bernadette expressed her thanks to all of the traders who took part in the event saying that, despite clashing with Confirmations and an Irish rugby match, the event was a success, raising just over €900 for the worthy cause.

She also thanked the Astro Active Centre and its staff for their hospitality, the team at the Hope Cancer Support Centre, and her fellow leaders, her family and friends who helped on the day, made donations, and bought raffle tickets. She thanked all businesses who had donated a raffle prize.

She especially commended the talent of the local traders and encouraged people to support them in the future.

‘Now, all we need to do is keep training for the big event itself!’ she added.

The Hope & Dream 10 takes place on Sunday, April 9.
