Fashion Show for Camogie

A fundraisin­g fashion show will take place in D Bar, Treacy’s Hotel on Good Friday at 8 p.m.

The event is being held in aid of Wexford Camogie and will feature a range of fashion from boutiques in Enniscorth­y, Gorey and Wexford.

Participan­ts include: Ruby Rouge, Put a Bow On It, The Yellow Rose, Vila, Runaway Bride and Murt Walsh.

Tickets are €20 and include prosecco and cheese on arrival. Tickets are available from Treacy’s Hotel, who are sponors of the event, and also from Senior Camogie Players.

Soccer Camp

A soccer camp will be held in Gaelscoil Drumgould from April 3 to 6, from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. for children aged five up to 13. The cost is €30 per child. For more informatio­n, contact Cllr John O’Rourke on 086 842 0609 or Craig Dwyer on 087 1355 182 for details and booking.

Enniscorth­y Retirment Associatio­n

A members meeting will take place on the first Tuesday of each month at the Riverside Hotel at 2.30 p.m.

Ongoing activites are as follows: Monday - Line dancing at 11 a.m. at Astro Active Centre; Indoor bowls at 1 p.m. at Astro Active Centre; Pitch & Putt at 10:30 a.m. at St Patricks Pitch and Putt course. Wednesday - Walk at 11 a.m. from Riverside Hotel; Table quiz at 2.30 p.m. every second Wednesday at Loreto Village. Thursday - Ramblers’ walk at 9 a.m. from LIDL car park; Scrabble at 10 a.m. at Astro Active Centre; Crafts at 2 p.m. at Astro Active Centre.

Alive Church, Abbey Centre, Enniscorth­y.

The Alive Church in Abbey Centre will host services on Good Friday at 7 p.m. and on Easter Sunday at 11 a.m. All are welcome.

Gardening Workshop

Keith Rothwell from Beechdale Garden Centre, Clonroche will present a gardening workshop at Enniscorth­y Library on March 29 at 7 p.m. He will focus on combining seasonal shrubs and plants to produce an array of colour at this time of year. Fundraisin­g Concert

A Gala fundraisin­g concert will take place at St Mary’s Church on Sunday, April 8 at 7.30 p.m. Organised by the Lions Club, the event aims to raise funds to restore the organ in St Mary’s Church, one of the oldest in the Diocese of Ferns and Ossory. A host of Wexford’s best entertaine­rs will take part. Tickets are €10 and are available from St Aidan’s Parish Office.

Gala concert

St Mary’s Church is to host a special Gala Fundraisin­g Concert on Sunday, April 8, at 7.30 p.m. to raise money for an extensive refurbishm­ent of the church organ – one of the oldest in the diocese of Ferns and Ossory. Organised by Enniscorth­y Lions Club, the evening is to feature some of the county’s best-known and loved entertaine­rs. Tickets are priced at €10 each and are available from Eric Baron Menswear, Creane and Creane Insurance, Eddie Watchorn’s on the Old Dublin Road, O’Leary Travel, PE Kelly Insurance, Barry Sutton Dry Cleaners and the parish office at St Aidan’s Cathedral. All support is greatly appreciate­d.

Easter Hop

The South East Rock’n’ Roll Club are hosting an Easter Hop at the IFA Centre on Sunday, April 1, at 8.30 p.m. The evening will feature a fantastic programme of music with the Run awayz and the Revolution­aires performing on the night, followed by DJ Lew Boogie, who will keep things going till the wee hours. Tickets are priced at €12 on the door or €10 for members and it promises to be a real rockin’ night.

Community Watch

Moran Park, Bellefield and St Aidan’s Community Watch are continuing on patrols around the area despite the cold nights. The service is said to be a great help to local people and they are looking to recruit one or two volunteers to help out. Anyone, who would be willing to help is asked to contact chairman Bernard O’Leary at 085 1088163.

Camino walk

The St Senan’s Parish Camino Walk 2018 will take place from Saturday, May 26, to Sunday, June 3, at a price of €899 sharing/€155 single supplement. The walk will follow the John Brierley guide book stages which are mainly designed for individual walkers who are quite happy to stay in hostel type accommodat­ion in some of the more remote places. Succession seminar

A special seminar on succession planning featuring a number of local experts will take place at the Riverside Park Hotel on Tuesday, April 10, at 7.30 p.m.

Speakers on the night will be solicitor John Burke O’Leary, accountant Eugene Doyle, Myles Roban of Roban Financial and economist Jim Power, who will discuss topics such as Brexit and the financial forecast.
