Wallaces Garden Centre has everything you need to brighten up your garden

-

EASTER is here at last and we’re all eager to get out in the garden again! You can begin to prune back scorched or damaged leaves and branches on shrubs, hedges and evergreen plants to allow light in and encourage new growth. Cover flowering plants like Camellias with some garden fleece (available in store) to protect them from the colder temperatures.

Seed potatoes can be planted as soon as the soil has warmed up. Potatoes can tolerate a light frost, but you should provide some frost protection for the plants if you know that a hard late-season freeze is coming. At Wallaces, we have a large selection of seed potatoes in stock.

Lawns will be looking a little tired after the Winter, so now is a good time to apply Sulphate Of Iron for moss. Always wear gloves when applying this product and be careful not to get it on paths/paved areas as it will stain them. Apply the product before rain and after 2-3 weeks your lawn will turn black and the moss will then need to be raked or scarified out. It is available in store now for 12.99 for a 25kg bag.

Now is a good time to get going with seed planting in the greenhouse and putting in your Summer bulbs. We carry a wide range of flower and vegetable seeds as well as seed trays and all you need for propagation.

Wallaces is situated 15 minutes from Wexford Town in the heart of Wellingtonbridge.
