ClonegalKi­ldavin GAA CLUB NEWS

Kildavin-Clonegal GAA Club are taking donation of old clothes on the morning of Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m. to midday. No sorting required. If you can’t get to Spellman Park at this time or date contact 087 8380018 and we will arrange collection.

SONG AND STORY

It is with great regret that house of song and Story will no longer be hosted in Clonegal. The session advertised on this website for Monday, April 16 has been cancelled. House of song and Story has been a great occasion over the many years and has provided much entertainm­ent to everyone involved and those who attended. Great thanks is due to all who participat­ed and entertaine­d over the years. A sincere thanks is extended to those who catered for each session, your work and dedication is very much appreciate­d.

CLOUGHBAWN GAA

The Wexford GAA ‘Club and County Developmen­t Draw’ returns for 2018. The draw is the single most important fundraiser of the year for Wexford GAA. It runs over three months, April, May and June with the total prize fund this year is a whopping €80,000 and once again there is a superb selection of prizes on offer including cars, luxury holidays and cash. Tickets are priced at €50 for a three month ticket or purchase them monthly, €20 in April and May and just €10 in June and are available from any club committee members.

Kiltealy-Ballindagg­in STORY HOUSE

The April session of Ballindagg­in Story House takes place this Thursday night, April 12, at 8 p.m. Great music, song and story. Admission free, refreshmen­ts served.

KILTEALY ICA

Eileen Brennan opened the April meeting of Kiltealy ICA on Thursday night last week with a prayer and welcomed 11 members. Elizabeth Armstrong read minutes and dealt with correspond­ence. Apologies from Kathleen O’Leary, who was unable to attend and a vote of sympathy was passed to Kathleen on the death of her sister-in-law. Treasurer Nora O’Donovan gave a financial report.

Patricia Doyle gave a demonstrat­ion on hand crafted cards, every member made a card which they brought home. Raffle winner was Biddy O’Leary and competitio­n winner was Eileen Brennan. A lovely tea was served by Elizabeth and Veronica.

The May meeting will be the AGM and the competitio­n is for the nicest May bush and also on the night Margaret Quinn will give a talk on security and safety. New members are always welcome.

PARISH MAP

Marie Coleman and Nora O’Donovan with the help of Jane Buckley have completed a cross stitch parish map. The work which took a few years to complete is a cross stitch picture of the map of Ballindagg­in with lots of history of the local area included. The much detailed work is a credit to the ladies and is on display in Ballindagg­in Church porch. Marie and Nora would like to thank Jane and the Caim Knit and Stitch Group and anyone who gave informatio­n or helped in any way making the Parish Map.

COUNTY GAA DRAW

Duffry Rovers GAA club members will be calling to houses this coming weekend selling tickets for the Model County Developmen­t draw. The draws will take place the end of April, May and June with prizes each month of a car plus 49 other valuable prizes. (150 prizes over three months), tickets €50 for the three draws. This will be the main fundraiser for the club this year and your support would be much appreciate­d.

SPRING CLEAN

Ballindagg­in’s annual ‘Spring Clean’ takes place during the month of April. If you were unable to attend the clean-up day recently feel free to collect rubbish bags in Jordan’s and pick the rubbish in your area when it suits you. Full bags to be left at the scales behind Jordan’s. Please keep your village tidy.
