Enniscorth­y men dump holders out of the cup

Shamrock Rovers produced a fine performanc­e to knock holders North End United out of the Wexford Volkswagen Cup after an exciting fourth round tie in Curracloe on Sunday.

The Sky Blues were hoping to make it to the final for an incredible sixth year in a row but the Enniscorth­y men had other ideas and came out on top thanks to an Eamonn O’Brien double.

Rovers, who are away to Forth Celtic in the next round, were the last team to beat North End in the Wexford Cup, when they came out on top 4-1 in the 2015 final.

Moyne Rangers set up a quarter-final meeting with Rosslare Rangers after edging out New Ross Celtic 2-1 on Sunday.

Seán Kenny and Johnny Flynn-O’Connor scored for last year’s beaten finalists, with Seán Culleton replying for the Barrowside­rs.

Neil O’ Sullivan Cup

Rosslare Rangers booked their place in the last four of the Neil O’Sullivan Cup with a 3-2 win over Adamstown in their quarter-final on Sunday.

Tiarnan Rossiter, Gearóid Byrne and Mark Furlong scored for the winners, with Conor Hickey and Liam Moore hitting the back of the net for Adamstown.

Meanwhile, Rosslare Port edged out Crossabeg 5-3 on penalties after an enthrallin­g second round tie on Sunday.

The sides were tied at 0-0 at full-time and level at 1-1 after extra-time, with Conor Maddock scoring for Crossabeg and Michael Barry replying for Port.
