GAA CLUB NOTES

The intermedia­te hurling championsh­ip first round has been fixed for Sunday at 2 p.m. in St James in Kilurin (Glynn-Barntowns pitch). The lads have really put in a huge effort under Mattie Flynn O’Connor this year so they deserve your support.

Other fixtures for the week, under-13 football tonight (Tuesday) against Duffry Rovers away at 6.45 p.m. On Thursday, the under-15 footballer­s play there second round game away to Duffry Rovers at 7 p.m. They defeated Craanford in the first round 4-11 to 0-07. Next Monday night, the minor footballer­s will finish up there campaign before the break with a home game against Cloughbawn, at 7.15.

Well done to Jake Nobbs and Patrick O’Connor, who the Senior Hurling UCD tournament recently with St Peter’s College.

Under-seven hurling/football training continues on Thursday evenings at 6.15 in the arena.

Ten teams have entered the Junior B hurling District this season which is the most it has been for a number of years. Glynn-Barntown enter a third team for the first time with the usual suspects also included with the first round will be played on the weekend of the 27/April 28/29. One difference to this season is that players first year out of minor can play with both the intermedia­te and junior b team for championsh­ip up till quarter final stage as long as a player dosent play with both teams on the one weekend.
