Whist
The next whist in aid of St Anthony’s CWCW will take place there on May 11. The fun will get underway at 8 p.m. sharp and tea will be served on the night. All are welcome to attend.

Legendary Wexford rockers JMA will take to the stage at The Presentation Centre on Friday, May 11, to pay homage to two of the most iconic names in music - Bob Dylan and Neil Young. The band has quite a following across the county and previous incarnations of this tribute to two legendary musical figures received rave reviews and attracted sell-out crowds. Historical Society
The Uí Cinsealiagh Historical Society’s next outing is this Thursday, May 3. It will include a guided tour of the National Heritage Park followed by Lunch (cost not included). Local Fianna Fáil TD James Browne is set to host a special tea day with the goal of raising funds for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. The event will take place at Deputy Browne’s constituency office this Friday, May 4, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All are welcome to come along, enjoy a cuppa and a chat and contribute to what is a great cause.

Beneath My Angels Wings, an organisation supporting families bereaved of their children, are hosting a 5km family walk in Enniscorthy Sports Hub this Sunday, May 6 at 11 a.m. Organisers are hoping to raise €3500 to purchase a cuddle cot for Wexford General Hospital’s maternity unit and all money raised will go towards this. The event is will take place in partnership with Enniscorthy Municipal District Council and all support is greatly appreciated.
TidyTowns
Enniscorthy Tidy Towns Association are to host a fundraising Pitch & Putt Classic at St Patrick’s Pitch & Putt Club on Parnell Avenue on May 19. The funds raised will be used to administer the Association’s Social Employment Scheme and other commitments such as garden competitions and the general task of keeping the town clean and tidy. FosterCare
A special workshop to inform and support foster carers on the impact of change, grief and loss in the context of foster care will get underway at The Riverside Park Hotel on May 9th. The programme will take place over three workshops, May 9, 22 and September 18, and will provide an overview of change, grief and loss, validate and de-mystify experiences that many will have already encountered or may encounter in the future and focus on self-care, resilience and coping strategies, all in the context of foster care. The Presentation Centre will host a fascinating play ‘No Smoke Without Fire’ on Friday, May 4, for one night only. A members meeting will take place on the first Tuesday of each month at the Riverside Hotel at 2.30 p.m.

Community Watch
Moran Park, Bellefield and St Aidan’s Community Watch are continuing on patrols around the area. The service is said to be a great help to local people and they are looking to recruit one or two volunteers to help out. Anyone, who would be willing to help is asked to contact chairman Bernard O’Leary at 085 1088163.

Volunteers Sought
Touched by Suicide are seeking volunteers to help in their shop on Castle Hill. If you can volunteer, even for an hour a day, it would be of great help. Anyone interested in lending a hand is asked to call into the shop.
Exhibition
The Presentation Centre’s third annual Open Call Art Exhibition runs from April 13 until June 4. This year’s exhibition sees over 100 pieces on display and has really captured the imagination of local art lovers. Some wonderfully intricate and colourful pieces are on display and people are encouraged to drop in and see for themselves the level of artistic talent that exists locally. The annual Alzheimers Tea Day will take place this Thursday, May 3, in St Senan’s Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members of the public are invited to pop in for a cuppa and show their support for a great cause.

Bingo takes place weekly in St Senan’s Community Centre on Sunday nights at 8p.m. All are welcome.
VinegarHill Conference
Enniscorthy is set to welcome history buffs from all over the country for a special archaeology conference
focusing on Vinegar Hill taking place over three days from May 25-27. The event will feature talks from some of the foremost historical experts on the topic of 1798 as well as a complete analysis of the findings from the recent archaeological survey on the hill. There will also be a field trip to Vinegar Hill and the screening of a special documentary. Tickets for all three days are priced at €25 and are available from Enniscorthy Castle (www.enniscorthycastle.ie) or The National 1798 Centre.
GreatGatsby
People are being encouraged to don their finest prohibition era gladrags and head for Treacy’s D-Bar on Friday night as the first official event of this year’s Strawberry Fair programme takes place. The Great Gatsby night welcomes all the glitz and glamour of the roaring twenties as D-Bar is transformed for one night only into a Chicago-style Speakeasy. People are encouraged to arrive in period dress with prizes on offer and there will also be delicious gin cocktails and smooth jazz music from the legendary Ain’t Misbehavin’. Tickets are priced at €15 from Treacy’s Hotel.
Yoga
Yoga classes with teacher Nicola Brady take place weekly in the Presentation Centre on Mondays and Thursdays. The classes cater for all skill levels and are priced at €10. For more information, contact the Presentation Centre, or Nicola on 087 2168819.

The Enniscorthy Branch of the Red Cross wish to issue a big thank you to members of the public for all their kind donations to their recent church gate collection. The money raised will go a long way towards helping to maintain the wonderful service offered by volunteers in the Enniscorthy area and they are extremely grateful.
Volunteers
St Aidan’s Parish are still on the lookout for volunteers to help out at the cathedral. Particularly sought are church cleaners willing to give one our of their time each month. Volunteers are particularly needed for 6 - 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday mornings after 10 a.m. mass. Basket collectors are being sought for the 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday masses each week and Eucharistic ministers are required for several masses. If you can help, please drop into the parish office or call 053 9235777.
Exhibit
The Enniscorthy Industries exhibition is now open at Enniscorthy Castle. It provides a history of some of Enniscorthy’s biggest employers with some wonderful artefacts on show.
