Ten of the 25 sold were sent from the county and the Wexford horses got a total of £613,000, half the total proceeds of the sale.

Donnchadh Doyle sent out the top seller, Thatsy, a four-yearold gelding by Martaline, which fetched £130,000. This one won at his maiden at Lingstown and was only beaten a head in a hot Winners of Two at Loughanmore. He will be trained by Gordon Elliott.

Doyle sold two others - Executive Capilano, a five-year-old bay mare by Milan for £40,000, and Holy Motivation, a five-year-old mare by Kalanisi which won at Tinahely, for a modest £12,000 to Gordon Elliott’s yard.

Liam Kenny from Ballydarragh, Craanford, did well with Pat Redmond’s Redzor, getting £80,000 for the five-year-old son of Shantou which won at the third attempt in Ballyraggett on March 25.
