SHEIL KINNEAR

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS REGISTERED AUDITORS

-

SHEIL Kinnear, one of Ireland’s longest established professional practices, marks an important milestone this year with the appointment of three new directors.

Joining the leadership team are Frances Roche (FCCA), Anita Power (FCCA, AITI) and David O’Connor (ACA).

Frances Roche has more than 20 years’ experience with Sheil Kinnear. She specialises in providing accountancy support to SMEs, farmers and sole traders.

Anita Power is an expert in audit, financial reporting and tax and has worked with a wide range of Sheil Kinnear clients. She will take a leadership role with many of these clients into the future.

David O’Connor specialises in technical accounting, auditing and company law. Prior to joining Sheil Kinnear earlier this year, he worked as a consultant in the accountancy industry. David has gained valuable experience in two ‘Big 4’ firms where his clients ranged from sole traders to listed companies, SMEs and Credit Unions.

From Strength to Strength

Frances, Anita and David join directors Michael McDonald, Marese Stafford and Tim Quinlivan on the board.

Michael McDonald (FCA) has vast experience across a broad range of clients including IT and internet-based companies. He has a keen interest in the charity and not for profit sector.

Marese Stafford (ACIS, AITI) is a Chartered Secretary and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. This combination of expertise in company law and tax enables her to provide a unique range of services to clients ranging from compliance to complex restructuring assignments.

Tim Quinlivan (FCA) is also a member of the Irish Taxation Institute (I.T.I.). He served as an I.T.I. council member for 3 years and has a special interest and expertise in tax. Tim is an author and speaker on the subject of Revenue Audits.

Continuity and Success

Commenting on the recent appointments, Director Tim Quinlivan said the developments will assure the continued success of Sheil Kinnear and its clients.

“We are very proud of our strong track record and extremely grateful for the continued support of our loyal client base. Numerous clients over the years have commenced their business journey with us, growing from small beginnings into very profitable enterprises. We are confident that these changes will ensure a successful and prosperous future both for our clients and for Sheil Kinnear.” Former directors David Dowling, Tom Brazil and Tony Macken who are retiring from the board will remain with Sheil Kinnear as consultants to ensure a smooth transition.

Customer Service is our Heritage

Founded by Joseph Lawton in the 19th century, Wexford-headquartered Sheil Kinnear occupies 6,000 square feet in Sinnottstown Business Park, Drinagh with branch offices in Enniscorthy and Arklow. The firm, which is large enough to handle the most complex cases yet small enough to give clients personal attention, is shortlisted in the Service Provider category of this year’s Wexford Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards. Sheil Kinnear’s ethos has always been to work closely with clients, building long term relationships and delivering a professional multi-disciplined service that adds value by interpreting financial data and offering useful and practical advice.

“We deliver Big 4 levels of expertise at regional rates,” says Quinlivan. An accredited training firm for Chartered Accountants Ireland and the ACCA, Sheil Kinnear provides excellent opportunities for individuals interested in a career in accounting. Information for qualified accountants and potential trainees is available in the career section of the firm’s website.

The firm is also an active member of the Charter Group, a network of ten chartered accountancy firms committed to providing client services of the highest professional standards.

StrategicStrategic ConnectionsConnections forfor Brexit Preparations

Brexit is one of the areas where Sheil Kinnear’s expertise will be vital over the coming months. To better support clients, the firm recently formed an association with Oury Clark, a UKbased multidisciplinary practice. This will be particularly valuable for companies commencing or expanding operations in the UK as well as for UK-based companies seeking to establish operations or relocate in Ireland.

“With less than a year to go until the UK leaves the EU, we are urging clients to talk to us,” says Quinlivan.

“There is still a lot of uncertainty but it is vital that businesses prepare. Even if you don’t import or export, there is every chance that your supply chain will be impacted. Now is the time to review operations and to put flexible strategies in place to help minimise risk and maximise opportunities.”
