COURTOWNGOLF

-

Not wishing to tempt fate, but was it not just fantastic to see a few dry days strung together over the long weekend, and we were able to have all 18 holes open at last.

There was also some good news for those members who like to use their buggies, as we were able to have buggies out on the front nine with the strict understanding that they were not to be used on the back nine.

On the teams front, our Barton Cup team had another fantastic win over near neighbours and current holders Enniscorthy. We won our three home matches, two of them on the 14th and the third on the 16th. We wish them all the best in their third round.

Last Wednesday one of our members, Jim French, had the first holein-one of the season when playing the seventh, which was playing as a temporary par.

A timely reminder for all who are involved in the club matchplays that the first round of the gents’ singles must be played on or before Monday, May 14, and the fourball must be completed by Monday, May 21. There will be no extensions and no exceptions, so no excuses.
