Great tasting steak dinner raises more than €18,000
The Amber Springs Hotel was filled with great smells on Saturday evening for the North Wexford Hospice Nursing Trust annual fundraising barbecue.
The barbecue attracted a total of 375 people, all who donated and managed to raise over €18,000 for the Nursing Trust. It was hailed as one of the best in its 27 years.
The participants enjoyed a delicious steak supper, followed by great musical entertainment from singer Tina Carter and band Theresa and The Stars.
North Wexford Hospice Nursing Trust treasurer Noelene Furlong said it was a great evening and they were blessed with the weather. ‘We would like to thank The Amber Springs, chefs, volunteers, nurses, sponsors and participants,’ added Noelene.
The much-anticipated event is held every year in The Amber Springs Hotel and is one of North Wexford Hospice Trust biggest fundraisers.
The National Coffee Morning in September is the other major fundraiser that generates much-needed funds for the charity.
