Enniscorthy Credit Union supporting students and parents

-

The Leaving Cert will be starting soon and thoughts will be turning to September and college. As many of our students have to leave home to gain a 3rd level education, Enniscorthy Credit Union recognises that the cost of further education is a huge burden on most parents. Our Education Loans mean that parents and students alike can sort out the financial side of 3rd Level which leaves the student to concentrate on their studies.

Liz Cullen, Manager commented that ‘Enniscorthy Credit Union wishes all Leaving Cert students success in their exams, and their future whatever it may bring. We are always thinking about the needs of our community; in particular the financial needs and interests of the younger members of our community.

Last year we lent over €900,000 in Education Loans to over 200 members of the credit union and we expect to surpass that this year. To avail of our Education Loan, the parent alone or the parent and student together must fulfil the criteria for borrowing which entitles them to avail of the lower interest rate applying to Education Loans at Enniscorthy Credit Union.

With access online to member accounts including payments in and out of your account now available, it is possible for our student members to remain with their local credit union and continue to avail of our services even when they are away at college.’

Our annual Brenda O’Neill Memorial Scholarship Draw continues with a fund of €9,000 available to 1st year registered student members. This is available to all student members registered in 1st year at PLC or 3rd Level.
