WWETB is a statutory body which has responsibi­lity for Education, Training and Youth Work provision throughout the Counties of Waterford and Wexford supporting a population of 260,000 people.

Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board ( WWETB) was formed in 2013 as a result of the ETB Act 2013 which saw the amalgamati­on of County Wexford VEC, County Waterford VEC and City of Waterford VEC. In July 2014, the training side was completed with the integratio­n of the Training services from FÁS to SOLAS and finally to WWETB.

WWETB delivers Post Primary education through its 13 schools, 8 of which are located in the County of Wexford. These include Bridgetown College, Selskar College, Coláiste an Átha, Creagh College, Bunclody Vocational College, Enniscorth­y Vocational College, Kennedy College and Coláiste Abbain. A broad curriculum is on offer at each College at both Junior and Leaving Certificat­e levels. In addition, Post Leaving Certificat­e courses (PLC) are offered at most of the Colleges.

Further Education and Training offers learners access to a broad range of qualificat­ions ranging from Level 1 – Level 6 on National Qualificat­ions Framework. These courses are offered through the 24 FET Centres located throughout the counties of Waterford and Wexford

WWETB have two Training Centres which cater for both craft and new apprentice­ships. In addition, WWETB offer a broad range of Traineeshi­ps and specific skills training in these centres.

An extensive range of outdoor education, Including on-site training, is provided through their specialist centre in Shielbagga­n.

WWETB is responsive to the needs of the communitie­s and employers across the two counties. They are assisted in this task by many external stakeholde­rs including the Regional Skills Forum, Wexford County Council, Local Community Developmen­t Committee, Regional Action Plan for Jobs, Department of Social Protection and Wexford Chamber among others.

Youth Services across the two counties are supported by our Youth Officers.
