Special invite for Ruby Rouge

-

BUSINESS woman Niamh Byrne from Gorey received a Presidential Invite to a reception held in Áras an Uachtaráin last week to celebrate Female Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Creativity and the Sustainable Economy.

Niamh, who is proud owner of Ruby Rouge on Esmonde Street, was introduced to President Michael D Higgins and Sabina Higgins during the reception that celebrated the huge and growing impact female entrepreneurs are making to the Irish economy.

President Higgins invited Niamh to the event because of her dedication to growing businesses, like Ruby Rouge, as well as diversifying into new markets and opportunities such as setting up her new software business Schedulie.

Niamh said the President acknowledged that while great strides are being made in this area, women only make up 20 per cent of Ireland’s entrepreneurs.

Since Niamh set up Ruby Rouge in 2005, the boutique has continued to grow, not only on a local and national level, but international as well with many customers from outside Ireland ordering online.

Through the years, Niamh has found herself dealing with numerous workforce problems and decided, along with her husband Cyril, to create a mobile app that would help manage this and simplify communications with staff – Schedulie.

They recently formed a separate company to develop and sell the Schedulie app to other businesses and it is now used in retail, hospitality and construction companies throughout Ireland and the UK. In 2017, Enterprise Ireland invested in Schedulie and will assist Niamh in further growing the company.
