COMMUNITY CHILDCARE AGM

Craanford-Monaseed Community Childcare AGM will take place on Wednesday, May 23, at 8 p.m. in Craanford Community Centre. All parents must register kids at the AGM for their free ECCE/CCS/CCS Universal places in September 2018.

LOCAL ROSE

Best of luck to our local rose Caitriona Doran kindly sponsored by the Amber Springs Hotel and her rose bud Emma McCormack in the Wexford Rose of Tralee selection to be held on Friday, May 25, in the Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey.

MONASEED PLAYGROUND

There will be a public meeting in Monaseed Hall on Thursday, May 24, at 8 p.m. regarding a playground in Monaseed, all welcome. Field day meeting.

A meeting regarding the field day will be held in Craanford Community Hall on Thursday, May 24, at 9 p.m. All Welcome.

BINGO

Bingo will be held Craanford Hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m.

FESTIVAL OF CHOIRS

The festival of Choirs 2018 took place in Gorey last weekend. Members of Craanford choir and Gorey choir combined to perform on Sunday evening along with other choirs on the evening. It was a most uplifting occasion and all donations received were given to Wexford Hospice Homecare. Well done to Eileen Poole, Gwen Stewart, Margaret Doyle, Deirdre Conroy, Maeve Kenny, Patrick Murphy, and Michael and Brid Lyons along with Mandy O’Callaghan, who represente­d Craanford at this unique event.

RUN/WALK WITH RAY

Why not Run or walk 5km with Ray on Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m. Come on everyone, let’s do it together, a giant effort on everyone’s behalf will see a wonderful family event happen and raise funds for the hall in Craanford. Refreshmen­ts served afterwards with music and craic in Cooney’s. Huge thanks to Raymond Byrne for all work with this event.

Craanford Vintage Rally and field day: Sunday, July 15.

The annual Vintage Threshing will take place in Matt Doyle’s, Carrigbeg, on Sunday, September 2, in aid of friends of Gorey Hospital. Come and see the art of threshing, view machinery used in days gone by, sit with friends and reminisce, refreshmen­ts available on the day. For details call Matt at 086 8489662.

CRAANFORD HARRIERS AC

Members of the club travelled to the Enniscorth­y Sports Club last Sunday for the Wexford County Track and Field Championsh­ip. Congratula­tions to all that qualified for the finals. Medal winners on the day were Muireann Kavanagh under-11 Shot Putt – 2nd, Cian Pinnegar under-12 boys high jump – 3rd, Tom Funge under-12 100m – 2nd, Seán Pinnegar under-14 high jump – 2nd. Best of luck to all athletes day two which takes place on May 27.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

The next meeting will take place Thursday, May 24, at 10.30 a.m. in Craanford Community Hall. All welcome €3 per family.

SPLIT-THE-POT

EXAM MASS – On Sunday, June 3, we will have our annual Mass for Success in Exams. This year, in preparatio­n for the World Meeting of families we will hold a parish barbecue in the yard behind the Parochial House immediatel­y after the 10.30 a.m. Mass.

We invite all parish families to consider joining us, especially families with Exam candidates. There will be free burgers, refreshmen­ts and fun.

We encourage the young people to plan their studies well ahead so as to be able to spend a little time that morning with their own and their parish family as they enter into exam season.
