Turmeric has many amazing health benefits

TURMERIC is an amazing spice with fantastic health benefits. Its anti-inflammatory properties help relieve arthritic pain, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, and joint or tendon problems. It eases stiffness, painful muscles, and headaches. Its stimulating effect on the liver helps to cleanse the skin, supporting inflammatory conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It nourishes the heart and is a useful digestive aid too.

Turmeric golden paste is the traditional way to take turmeric and it’s easy to make. All you need is: half cup of water, half cup of turmeric powder, teaspoon of black pepper (to aid absorption) add all of the ingredients to a saucepan.

Bring the heat up but not to boil and stir gently for 7-9 minutes. If the paste starts to get too thick add more water. When its ready transfer it to a glass container and seal, this will stay fresh for about three weeks. Take half to 1 teaspoon once or twice a day mixed into a warmed milk of your choice. If you prefer you can add the paste to any food, or eat it straight from the container.The active part of turmeric is curcumin, its fat soluble and is best if taken with good fats to enhance absorption.

There are many supplements available; these are ones that I am familiar with:

Solo nutrition turmeric equivalent to 1200mg is a root extract containing 95% curcumin per capsule. It contains black pepper also known as piperine to aid absorption. You take one per day.

Flexofytol is based on a new preparation of turmeric called bio optimized which makes it easier to be absorbed by the body. This extract allows curcumin to pass through the blood to ensure optimal effect. Children from age six can take this supplement.

Other brands include Viridian or Terra Nova (who never use additives, fillers, or binders in their formulas), New Vista’s 100% pure liquid concentrate, or Better You Oral Spray which provides 1300mg turmeric per dose.

Some people have found turmeric to be so successful they were able to discontinue or reduce analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs. For osteoarthritis you’ll need to consider taking turmeric with Omega Oils, Glucosamine Sulphate, Collagen, or Hyaluronic Acid for protection of the joints to prevent deterioration.
