Congratula­tions to Jack Roche-Doyle and Eimear Fortune, county champions in Under-18 shot putt and Under-15 800m.

There was a plethora of Kilmore A.C. medal-winning performanc­es on day two of the Mr Oil county Juvenile championsh­ips in Enniscorth­y.

While winning the Under-15 girls’ 800m, Eimear was made to work hard for it.

She finished with a narrow victory but a brilliant one all the same.

In the shot putt, Jack Roche-Doyle threw a massive effort of in excess of 10.65m. This was also an impressive P.B.

In the boys’ Under-12 60m, Liam Hore delivered a fantastic run. Following a third place finish in the semi-final, Liam bettered that by coming second in the final.

In the 600m races, Rayna Thompson finished a strong second in the Under-11 girls thanks to an immense sprint finish.

Niamh Fortune finished third in the Under-13 600m with another strong finish. She also came second in the 80m.

Arwyn Thompson bagged another two individual medals to add to her two from day one.

She was third in the 200m and third in the 800m.

In the girls’ Under-15 200m, Katelyn Boggan came a strong second despite being faced with unimaginab­ly difficult rain just as the race began.

Honourable mention to Eimear Fortune who came fourth. Katelyn finished third in the high jump.

In the Under-15 boys’ high jump, Ross O’Flaherty finished third.

In the Under-18 200m, Sam Molyneux had a magnificen­t run, finishing second and missing out on gold by the narrowest of margins.

Sam followed this up with second in the 800m. Rory Cassidy was fourth.

In the relays, the Under-14 girls - Dawn McKenna, Kate O’Flaherty, Niamh Fortune and Arwyn Thompson - finished a comfortabl­e first place.

The Under-18 boys’ relay team of Jack Doyle-Roche, Sam Molyneux, Rory Cassidy and Liam O’Flaherty finished third.

Preparatio­ns continue now for the upcoming Leinster championsh­ips taking place over the forthcomin­g weekends.

Well done to Fiona Kehoe who was third in the women’s 800m at the Irish Milers Club meet in Belfast on Saturday.

Fiona finished in a time of 2:10 behind U.C.D’s Claire Mooney and Alanna Lally.
