DEVIL IS IN THE DETAIL FOR ALICE’S LATEST RELEASE

- By PÁDRAIG BYRNE

AN Enniscorthy based singer/ songwriter is starting to make some major waves with her latest release ‘Devil In Me’. Alice Lynskey previously came to prominence after her song ‘Run and Hide’ was picked up by The Stunning on RTÉ’s show ‘ The Hit’ and she has also opened shows for the likes of The 4 of Us, Don Baker and Rob Strong.

Now the songstress, originally from Dublin, is starting to gain some major traction and airplay for her latest offering, a catchy pop number with just a hint of a haunting quality that will have you tapping along in no time. ‘I wrote “Devil in Me” about that dark place the majority of us pretend isn’t there,’ she explained. ‘But it is, and sometimes if it shows itself even for moment, it can scare us.’

‘ There’s not a single halo out there untarnished... even mine,’ she laughed.

Alice first moved to County Wexford from Dublin when she was 18. She lived in Ferns first, followed by Camolin from where she commuted to college in DIT where she studied Pharmaceutical Healthcare. She got her degree and now works in Servier Arklow and lives in Enniscorthy.

While Alice is a familiar face at the likes of The Ri Sessions in Arklow and The Melt Sessions in Dublin, she is on the lookout for like-minded musicians to expand the project even further.

‘I’m on the hunt for a band at the moment,’ she said. ‘But I’m finding it really difficult finding good musicians who are free for gigs in Dublin as well as more locally.’

You can hear Alice’s fantastic new single ‘Devil in Me’ on YouTube or at her Facebook page, where you can also get all the information on her upcoming gigs and releases. Another new single is expected this summer.
