Appeal for info on fatal crash

-

GARDAÍ in Enniscorthy last week renewed their appeal for any information in relation to a fatal crash which claimed the life of a 19 year-old girl on the N11 just beyond Blackstoops roundabout.

The horrific incident took place at around midday on Tuesday, May 22, and involved three vehicles - a Toyota Hilux pickup being driven by local publican Karl Forster, a small black hatchback which 19 year-old Aisling Dolan was a front seat passenger while her mother Breda drove, and a grey Volkswagen van whose occupants were said to be from Dublin.

A spokesman from Enniscorthy Garda Station said that they were appealing for any motorists who may have seen the accident, particularly those who may have dash-cam footage, to come forward to them at Enniscorthy Garda Station on 053 9242580 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111.

While the injuries suffered by the occupants of the van were said to have been relatively minor, Mr Forster spent a couple of days in hospital before being discharged.

Meanwhile, Breda Dolan suffered some horrific injuries in the smash which tragically killed her beloved daughter and faces a long road to recovery.

Gardaí have said that it’s much to early to say whether any criminal charges will be brought in relation to the incident. A spokesman said that they are in the process of collecting statements and a forensic report is still pending.
