DEVELOPMENT GROUP

The date we’ve all been waiting for has arrived; Sunday, June 10, from 10.30 a.m. when we will host our Street Feast ‘The Picnic in the Park ‘18’. We hope everyone can join us for refreshments in the park and fun and games for the children. The way the street feast works is everyone brings something sweet or savoury to share with others, maybe something to sit on if you wish, someone suggested it might be a good plan to being a mug as we plan not to use disposable if possible or anything you feel would be of use, games for the children if you have some and then come along and enjoy a cuppa and a chat with neighbours. Hopefully the sun will shine and it will be as enjoyable as other years.

We continue to meet every Monday evening in the village to tidy the area and to work on new projects. All help and support is appreciated and we’re always delighted to see new faces. Tidy Town judging time is coming up and there is a lot to be done before then. Follow Ballyduff Development Group Facebook page for info on what’s happening or if you want to share ideas.

WITH SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs Suzy Byrne, Clonee Lane, who passed away recently and to Lillie O’Brien and family, Ballybeg, on the death of her father Ned Dempsey, Oulart during the week. May they rest in peace.

We are badly in need of players. Bowling is on every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and stop to have a cup of tea in Ferns Community Centre. Please contact Charlie Christopher 053 9366848, John Francis 085 1490896, or Fred Warren 053 9366181.

LITTER PICK

Thanks to everyone who took part in our recent community litter pick for this year’s National and Wexford Spring Clean and the North Wexford 2K Clean and everyone who continues to work hard keeping our roads litter-free. The good news is that we’re through to the next part of the North Wexford 2K Clean competition, well done everyone and keep up the good work.
