Ferns families set to battle it out once again for fittest title

DON’T be surprised if you see families from around the Ferns area out training in the coming weeks, as Ferns Fittest Family makes a welcome return on Sunday, August 5. A successful fundraiser for Ferns United, it pits local families against each other as they battle through a series of gruelling challenges in a bid to be crowned Ferns fittest family.

Once again there is set to be great interest this year and entries are now being taken. The cost of entry is €120, but there is a special offer of €100 if you register your family before August 3. Teams of three are required which must include at least one female and of which all members must be over 16. First prize on the day will win €500 with €300 for second prize and €200 for third.

The fun will get underway at 11 a.m. with registration from 10 a.m. There will also be a presentation of prizes later that evening at The Thatch Pub in Ferns, followed by a disco. For more information or to sign up, contact Kerrie on 0873592959 or Paul on 0860811642.
