Across Russia the knockout stages of the World Cup are under way, and a number of club supporters will be looking at the results more anxiously than most as part of the World Cup predictions competition.
The ten - John Kehoe, Brendan Durnan, Jack Tully, Fiona McCoole, Joe O’Sullivan, Sabina Sweeney, David Mulligan, Mary Cullen, Mary Forster and Kieran Costello - emerged as the best predictors following the group stages.
Best of luck to all, and many thanks to fundraising co-ordinator Eamonn Sweeney for his work to date.
Club Secretary Alan Smith and club gear organiser Andrew Rothwell are the brains behind the forthcoming seven-a-side mixed hockey tournament taking place on Saturday, July 21, at the Astro Active Centre.

As an extra incentive, there are prizes for the winning team, with aprés tournament refreshments and nibbles in Stamp’s, Enniscorthy.

The Aspire Hockey Camp takes place at the Astro Active Centre, Enniscorthy, from Tuesday to Friday, August 7 to 10, for any players aged 8-18, from 9.45 a.m. to 2 p.m. the camp fee is €90. Mixed social hockey continues for any players over 15 from Wednesday, July 4, and weekly thereafter from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Astro Active Centre, Enniscorthy. The pitch rental fee is €5 per person.
Members and non-members are most welcome, as well as all abilities. Last week ten hardy souls braved 27 degree heat and had an excellent time - sun burn notwithstanding!
Finally, the men’s fixtures for the upcoming 2018-’19 season are available for viewing on the Leinster Hockey Association website (leinsterhockey.ie), while the ladies’ fixtures should soon be online after last night’s (Monday) meeting at Pembroke Wanderers.
