The ladies played last Tuesday’s competition in very hot conditions. It was a one of the warmest days of the season so far.

The competition was sponsored by Wheelock Fruits and was a singles stableford.

Results: 1, Chris Yates (27), 41 points; 2, Sheila McGrath (35), 40 points; 3, Ailish Doyle (28), 39 points; 4, Marie Duggan (17), 38 points (back nine); Cat. 6, Josie Gahan (38), 37 points; nine-hole qualifier, Bridie Morrissey, 17 points.

Next week’s competition is another major, that of our lady President, Maeve McCauley. It is a stroke/medal.

The Challenge Cup team had a great win over New Ross in Wexford on June 25, while the Intermediate team unfortunately lost to Tramore in Gowran on the same day.
