PATRON/FIELD DAY MEETING

There will be a meeting in Kiltealy Hall on Friday next, July 6, at 8 p.m. to organise this year’s Patron and field day. As usual the patron and field day will be held on the first Sunday in August which this year falls on August 5 the parish warmly invites existing patron/field day volunteers and encourages new volunteers to attend to help organise this very important day for the village of Kiltealy.

SILVER JUBILEE

Congratula­tions to Fr Michael Byrne on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of his ordination to the Priesthood.

We wish him health and happiness for the future.

ANNIVERSAR­Y MASSES

There will be three Masses celebrated to mark the first anniversar­y of the passing of the late Fr Fintan Morris. The first Mass will be on Friday, July 13, at 9.30 a.m. in Kiltealy Church. The second Mass will be on Saturday, July 14, at 7 p.m. in Kiltealy Church. Caim will mark his anniversar­y with a Mass on Sunday, July 15, at 10 a.m.

SOCIAL DANCING

There is dancing in Rathanna Hall Sunday next July 8, music by Adrian Ryan.

SPLIT THE POT

Last week’s winner of Kiltealy NS split-the-pot was Barry Doyle, who won €126. Play split-the-pot every week, envelopes available locally.

KILTEALY NS FIELD EVENING

There was a large attendance at Kiltealy NS field evening recently organised by the parents’ council. The beautiful weather contribute­d hugely to the event and everyone had a most enjoyable time. the parents’ council would like to thank everyone who helped make the event such a success: Derek Watchorn, Brian Cullen, Ollie Neville, Abigail Cullen for organising the games;

Willie Jordan for the barbecue; PJ White for DJing: Arthur Neville for sumo suits; The Thatch and Community Hall for equipment; KDK Scaffoldin­g for sponsoring the balloons; Martin Hanrahan, James Armstrong, John Murphy, Denis Carroll for setting up; Craig Rowland for bean bags and people who manned the various stalls. Also for all your very generous donations, confection­ary. A big thanks to all who helped with the clean-up. A great event, we have certainly set a precedent.

DUFFRY ROVERS LOTTO

The numbers drawn last week were 9, 18, 28 and 29. One match-three winner won €150: Molly Fenlon, Dranagh. Seller’s prizes: Andy Kehoe, Eddie Doyle, Dan Doyle and Denis Doyle. The draw tonight Tuesday. July 3 is in Rackard’s, Caim at 9.30 p.m. and the jackpot is €2,600.

ROBOT SUMMER CAMP

Would your child be interested in a summer camp for building their own robot? Build your own small robot and program through its online coding language – Ozoblockly. You will also program this machine by using colour codes on tracks drawn on paper.

The TEK central Computer/ coding/robotics will take place in Kiltealy hall from July 30 to August 3 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Suitable for 12 to 18 year olds. Activities will include: Makey Makey invention kit to create interactiv­e games, using block editor and python to make games, build your own circuit (similar to Hexbug) and Robotics using Ozobots.
