Puppies rescued from woodlands

-

Eight German Shepherd cross puppies were rescued by Wexford SPCA last Friday in the woods near Bree.

The young puppies which were all dehydrated and exhausted when found on Friday morning were brought to Wexford SPCA and were quickly examined by the staff at O’Shea, Bramley and Breen.

The animals quickly recovered and five of the eight were quickly rehomed while the remaining three were fostered by a member of Wexford SPCA.

The plight of the animals touched the hearts of many people after they were alerted to the puppies’ fate on Facebook with many people contacting the WSPCA to adopt the abandoned pups.

On Monday a spokesperson for WSPCA said: ‘We are experiencing a large volume of private messages due to the German Shepherd cross pups post that we put up on our page on Friday. We will do our best to respond to all, it may be best for those who are genuinely interested in offering a dog/pup a home to call us on 053 91 43919 or call into our office on Distillery Road.’
