People are taking care

-

IT APPEARS that people in County Wexford are adhering to warnings about over-exposure to the sun as a result of the current heatwave gripping the country.

According to a spokesperson for the HSE the number of people who attended Wexford General Hospital as a result of such over-exposure within the last fortnight was very low.

Caroline Kohn, group communications manag- er for the Ireland East Hospital Group, commented: ‘Only two people have presented at Wexford General Hospital with sun or heat-related issues in the last two weeks.’

With the current heatwave expected to continue until at least next week the HSE is still advising people to exercise extreme caution when outside. People are advised not to be out during peak sunshine hours in the middle of the day.
