The winners of Bunclody Swimming Pool Silver Circle Draw for July were first Prize €500 Liz Barn; second prize €200 Melissa Redmond; third Prize €100 Monica Mernagh. Many thanks to everyone for your support this year.

PRIDE OF PLACE

Bunclody has been entered in the National IPB Pride of Place Competitio­n 2018. The judges will pay a threehour visit to Bunclody on Thursday, July 26, The visit will start in the art.

Bank at 10 a.m. and all those with an involvemen­t in Community Activity locally are invited to attend.

RUMMAGE SALE

A mini fundraiser to raise funds to purchase a ‘Buddy Bench’ for Kilmyshall National School which will take place each Saturday in July – that includes July 7, 14, 21, 22 (Bunclody Festival) and 28 at the local Bunclody Market from 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. in St Aidan’s Hall Irish Street, where we will have a wide variety of items from Books, DVDs, Toys, bric-à-brac and lots more, plenty of bargains

We will also be holding a raffle with tickets on sale each Saturday and with the draw for the raffle taking place on Saturday, July 28.

STREAMS OF BUNCLODY FESTIVAL

Her Imperial Majesty, Queen of Hearts, welcomes your attendance at the Streams of Bunclody Festival from July 20 to July 22 with the theme decreed by Her Imperial Majesty of ‘Alice of Bunclody’.

On Friday, July 20, at 7.30 p.m.: Art Bank: Opening by Deirdre Wadding of the inaugural South East Festival of art with the theme of ‘Alice In Bunclody’ (will run till Saturday, August 4).

8 p.m.: The Mall: Parade down main street to open Streams of Bunclody Festival. On Friday we invite you to welcome Her Royalness and Her entourage into Bunclody at 8 p.m. by way of a procession that befits our Queen of Hearts. ing a Spectacula­r Street Fire Spectacle.

On Saturday, July 21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: The Mall: Artisan, craft stalls, workshops, street entertainm­ent, Blackstair­s Exhibition. Saturday has been graced as the Royal Market Day. Artisan producers will peddle their wares and workshops are available to the public in clay work and chairs. Our Blackstair­s Farmers will be holding an exhibition of ‘Life on the Hill’.

BUNCLODY MARKET

Bunclody Market will not be open on Sunday the 22nd as part of the Bunclody Festival as previously stated in the paper and on other media sites. We are open on Saturday, July 21, with extended hours (from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m.) in St Aidan’s Hall, Irish Street. We are open as usual every Saturday from 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. L

Bunclody Market will also be represente­d on the square on the Saturday in the gazebos for the festival.

WHIST

Whist takes place every Monday in St Mary’s Day Care Centre, Ryland Road, Bunclody, First deal at 8.45 p.m. sharp, new members always welcome.

PARISH PATRONS

The annual patron in Kilmyshall will take place on Friday, July 20, with blessing of the Graves Old Kilmeashal Graveyard, Ryland Hill 7.30 p.m. and in Kilmyshall Churchyard on Saturday, July 21, at 7.45 p.m.

The annual parish patron will take place in Bunclody on Friday, July 27, blessing of graves in Old Cemetery at 7 p.m. Calvary Cemetery: Holy Mass in Calvary Cemetery at 8 p.m.

BUNCLODY SWIMMING POOL

Bunclody Swimming Pool is open for the 2018 summer season. Admission fees: summer Family Membership. €120* (two adults + max four children under-16. €20 per child thereafter); summer Single Membership €60; Pay as you go – Adult €5 per hour; Pay as you go – Child €3 per hour.

WATER SAFETY WEEK

Water Safety Week at Bunclody Swimming Pool will run from July 30 to August 4 Due to increased numbers pre-registrati­on is required, an online link to book will be posted on our Facebook page beginning of June and there will be forms available from the pool manager.
