SUMMER SEISIÚN AT THE SKY AND THE GROUND.
Presented by Loch Garman Comhaltas, Seisiún features a lively mix of traditional music and singing. The focus is on showcasing the very best of local talent, be it traditional music/ singing, storytelling or Irish dancing. Each week a number of special guests join the house band. The show starts at 9 p.m. and likely duration is 70 minutes. Admission is €5.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 18 GREEN ROAD
Join Green Road at Wexford Arts Centre at 8 p.m. for a night of foot-tapping Irish Folk and trad music. This is the first of a seven-night series that will welcome a guest musician each night. The first guest will be Donal Clancy. Green Road features musicians who have played with Riverdance, on TV shows in Ireland, on radio shows in the UK and US, and for presidents and prime ministers. THURSDAY, JULY 19 WEXFORD FC GOLF CLASSIC

Kids Falconry Workshop will take place in Wells House and Gardens at 1 p.m., till 2 p.m. Under the guidance of resident Falconer, go on an adventure with the falcons and learn interesting facts about the stunning birds. Diane Fletcher Jones gives the first of the 2018 Hook summer Talks on ‘The Wisdom of Wildflowers and Weeds’. This talk will introduce you to the little healing plants that grow around you and offer so much nutrition and health giving benefits. Diane is a Wexford based Master Medical Herbalist, psychiatric nurse and mother of two little boys. If you need help picking your summer reading, best selling author Carmel Harrington will be providing help at Enniscorthy Library this Thursday, July 19, at 7 p.m. She will take you through the best reads to pack in your beach bag this summer from gripping thrillers to page-turning works of non-fiction. FRIDAY, JULY 20 MENAPIANS 5K
The local running club will host a 5K run, starting at Sarsfields Clubhouse in Pairc Charman at 7.30 p.m. Registration starts at 6 p.m. There will be cash prizes for winners and post-race refreshments. The event is open to runners, joggers and walkers aged 17 and over.
STREAMS OF BUNCLODY FESTIVAL
The Streams of Bunclody Festival will take place from the July 20 to July 22 and will have an ‘Alice in Bunclody’ theme. Help the Red Queen, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit and a troupe of Street Performers find Alice. There will be a host of family friendly and inclusive entertainment and activities for all. THE RIPTIDE MOVEMENT.
The Sky and the Ground will host the Riptide Movement with their new Coast to Coast tour which is in association with Clean Coasts. The band will perform their inimitable full live show at a number of coastal venue around Ireland, promoting the message that our environment needs to be kept litter and plastic free. The gig starts at 7.30 p.m.
SOUTH EAST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL.
Some of Ireland’s best known Country music names will take part in this year’s festival which runs at the Bannow Rathangan Showground in Killag. Running from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. acts include: Mike Denver and his band, along with Jimmy Buckley, Cliona Hagan, Gerry Gutheris, Lee Matthews and the Conquerors show band. There will be free on site parking, a full bar, and food. Children under-12 are free with an adult.

Camilla Tunney will discuss Clean Coasts in the second of these summer talks. Camilla is the Clean Coasts officer for Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford and has been with An Taisce’s Environment Education Unit since 2014, working across a number of programmes including Green Flag, Green Schools and Clean Coasts. She grew up by the seaside in County Wicklow, has an MSc in Environmental Science, and a background in education for sustainable development. The talk takes place at the Hook Lighthouse starting at 8 p.m., with refreshments at 7 p.m. Further details from 051 397055.

One of Ireland’s best singer-songwriters will perform at the Wexford Arts Centre at 8.30 p.m. He has penned some of the best songs to come out of Ireland in the past 20 years with global hits like ‘Saints and Sinners’ as part of his repertoire.

Rapparees-Starlights GAA Club is delighted to host an evening of laughter with the hilarious YouTube sensation Rory’s Stories at Bellefield GAA Grounds in Enniscorthy on Saturday, July 28.
With a massive fanbase right across the country as a result of his hilarious skit videos ranging on every topic from local GAA club characters to the Irish abroad, Rory will have you in stitches and a great night is guaranteed.
