Tuesday, July 10, brought one of our popular open days for Courtown ladies, sponsored by Le Crème Boutique.

Marion McKenna of Le Crème has been supporting us for many years now. Our ladies and visitors turned out in force to play in this extremely busy competitio­n.

The timesheet was full from dawn to dusk with guests from over 20 clubs taking part. We are extremely grateful to Marion and her team who attended on Tuesday evening to present the prizes to a packed clubhouse.

Results: 1, Dympna Doyle (29), 42 points; 2, Maria Waddock (37), 42 points (countback); gross, Sorcha Howell (3), 30 points; 3, Rose Maher (29), 42 points; 4, Jill Quinlan (32), 40 points; nine-hole competitio­n: 1, Ann Kearney (36), 20 points; 2, June Storan (37), 17 points.

Monday, July 9, saw Irene Poole and the Boyne Trophy team play Charleslan­d in a very tight match which resulted in a loss for Courtown. Congratula­tions to Charleslan­d.

Wednesday, July 18, will see Laura Funge and the Junior foursomes team travel to Enniscorth­y to play New Ross in the next round of the championsh­ip. Good luck ladies, we hope you do well.
