Councillors ready to rock at the festival

-

MEMBERS of the District Council were greatly looking forward to this year’s Enniscorthy Rockin’ Food Festival which takes over the streets of Enniscorthy for the August Bank Holiday. District Manager Liz Hore pointed out how the festival had grown massively over the past couple of years and described it as ‘one of the premier festivals of its kind on the east coast’.

While all of the councillors stated that they were looking forward to the weekend’s festivities, something in the programme caught Cllr Paddy Kavanagh’s eye in particular.

‘I see there’s a band here called Kav Kavanagh and the Lowdown Snakes... I don’t think that creates the right impression of Kavanagh’s in the area,’ he smiled.

The off the cuff comment generated a fair bit of laughter in the council chamber and all of the members urged the people of Enniscorthy an surrounding areas to get out and enjoy the festival over the bank holiday weekend.
