Another busy week began for Courtown ladies on Tuesday, July 17. Our competitio­n was sponsored by Gaslamp Gallery who have been sponsoring our ladies’ section for a number of years now and we really appreciate that support. The prizes were fabulous.

Claire O’Connell of Gaslamp Gallery attended the presentati­on on Tuesday evening and gave us a rundown on upcoming events. It promises to be a busy autumn for both the gallery and the golf club. Thank you so much Claire.

Wednesday, July 18, saw Laura Funge and the Junior Cup team head to Enniscorth­y to play New Ross in the semi-finals of the championsh­ip.

The team was Catherine Quinn and Mary Osborne, Eileen Cullen and Mairéad Sunderland, Mary Kilbride and Mairéad Carty, plus substitute Kate Sheehan.

A tough match ensued on a hot, clammy afternoon with Courtown emerging triumphant. Congratula­tions ladies, Tullamore on September 1 here we come.

Thursday, July 19, saw a great turn-out for a ladies’ open sponsored by Luca Boutique. We are yet again delighted to welcome Luca as a sponsor and thank you most sincerely for the support.

The display of clothes on the table was really tempting and exciting. Thank you Fiona for the continued support.
