The weekly Tuesday competitio­n was played in the continuing good weather, and the dry conditions are bringing in fantastic scores. The course is in good condition despite the lack of rain.

Next week’s competitio­n is part of open week and is a ladies’ and gents’ singles sponsored by Treacy’s Hotel.

The open Seniors’ competitio­n was played on Thursday, July 19, and was sponsored by Jennings Opticians.

Results: overall, Liz Askins (26), 45 points; Cat. A, Bridget Dempsey (31), 33 points; Cat. B, Catherine Ryan (39), 43 points; Cat. C, Audrey Lawrence (38), 40 points; visitor, Siobhán Treacy (Headford, 19), 38 points.

The Senior foursomes team played Kilkenny in Bunclody on Sunday and unfortunat­ely came up against strong opposition and lost two of three matches.

The Junior Cup team play Rosslare in Wexford on Sunday, July 29, at 4.15 p.m.

The Challenge Cup team play Tramore in Gowran on Monday, July 30, at 1 p.m.
