With nine match-three winners in the recent lotto draw, the jackpot of €5,000 was almost won. Lucky numbers 2 and 13 were pulled out again the other numbers were nine and four. Next draw takes place in Noels on Monday the 30th for €5,100. Both adult hurling teams were playing championsh­ip over the weekend. See results page in the Guardian, or at wexfordgaa.ie. The second football team play volunteers in Buffers Alley on Saturday the 28th at 3.30 p.m. Tuesday evening will be busy in Kilanerin with both the girls under-18 and boys under-13 playing at 7.30 p.m.

The under-16 girls Ciara Ryan memorial football blitz takes place in Kilanerin on Sunday the 29th. Eight teams are taking part, including Ballymagui­gan from Co. Derry, who are defending their title.

Last year, Kilanerin won the shield. Proceeding­s begin with Mass at 11 a.m. with the first matches approximat­ely noon. All games will be 20 minutes each. The finals should be approximat­ely at 2.30 p.m. Everyone in the community is invited to watch the games and especially to remember Ciara Ryan.

BALLYFAD FIELD DAY

Thank everyone who made the field day a success – All who collected at the gates of the graveyard and field, who ran a stall, who helped setting up and cleaning up the field, all who prepared the graveyard for the patron, all who sold and bought tickets for the raffle and all who donated prizes for them. All, who baked and made items for the tea. Thanks to Mary Graham for PA Raffle winners on the day were first. Louise McGrath, second. Joe Molloy third. Winner of the stick raffle was Chris O’Connor. The surprise in the box was won by Terence Clare.

WHIST

First lady was Arline Dooley, second lady was Kathleen Carr and half time lady was Rosarie Gilick. First gent was Michael Murphy, second gent was shared by Peg McDonald and Donal Kavanagh and half time gent was shared by Mary McCarthy and Bernie Walsh. Raffle winners were Alice Gibney, Tess Enright and Peg McDonald. Whist continues on Wednesday nights at 8.30 p.m.

CAMPA LE CHEILE

As part of the Gap Arts Festival, there is a bilingual summer camp being held in Ballythoma­s school on August 7/8/9. The camp is focused on creativity and expression and at the same time introduce comhra in a fun and informal way. Boys and girls from four to 18 are welcome. Drama, art and crafts, singing, ceol, agus outdoor games are the main ingredient­s. Cost is a max of €50 and brochures are available sa scoil, or from Paula D’Arcy or gapartsfes­t@gmail.com.
