BENEFIT NIGHT

37th annual benefit night in aid of Rosslare Lifeboat Service, Sunday, August 5, in Hammels Lounge Kilmuckrid­ge. Music by John ‘ Sport’ Murphy, Door prizes, raffle, auction, Tickets €5. Boat Pull from Kilmuckrid­ge to Morriscast­le at 12 o’clock, Bucket Collection.

Rosslare Lifeboat will visit Morriscast­le that afternoon. Kilmuckrid­ge fundraiser­s would like to thank everyone for their kind generosity and sponsorshi­p throughout the years, last year we raised €14,500.

COFFEE MORNING

CAREER OPPORTUNIT­IES TRAINING SCHEME

COTS is a WWETB (formerly Fás) training centre located in Kilmuckrid­ge and is aimed at people in receipt of a social welfare payment between the ages of 18 and 35. We are offering the opportunit­y to complete a Level 5 in Retail Practice with additional subjects: payroll, and book keeping. This is a fulltime course scheduled to commence in September 2018. There was no winner of the lotto for Monday, July 16. Numbers drawn were 4, 10, 15 and 22. Next jackpot €4,050.

WEEKLY CLEAN-UP

Tidy towns will commence their weekly clean-up on Tuesday, June 5. The cleanups will continue every Tuesday throughout the summer months meeting at Londis car park at 7 p.m. Judging will commence shortly for the annual SuperValu Tidy Towns competitio­n. This annual event is organised by the Department of Rural and Community Developmen­t and is sponsored by SuperValu. This year marks the 60th anniversar­y of the competitio­n Therefore we ask people to please help us by picking up any litter that they may find and placing it in the bins provided throughout the village. Volunteers needed especially during the busy summer months. All help gratefully received.

BRIDGE CLUB

MEN’S SHED

The Kilmuckrid­ge Men’s Shed is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.30 till 16.00. Call in any time during these hours have a coffee meet everyone and see some of the projects the group have made. For more informatio­n phone 053 9130393. Everyone welcome all age groups.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the Bolton Lee family Clasheen on the death of Eileen’s mother Mrs Sadey Carroll, Ballycanew, who died on Friday, July 6. Funeral Mass took place at 12 o’clock in Ballycanew with burial after to Kilanerin graveyard.

Sympathy is also extended to the Byrne family, Ballinstra­w on the death of Tom’s cousin Billy Byrne, Brownswood, Enniscorth­y, who passed away on July 14. Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday, July 17, in St Senan’s Parish Church with burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery. May they RIP.
