ENNISCORTHY CREDIT UNION READY TO HELP WITH BURDEN OF BACK TO SCHOOL COSTS

-

AS children in County Wexford enjoy their freedom from school, parents are already preparing to shoulder the burden of the back to school spend. The latest research by Zurich reveals that back to school expenditure continues to increase – on average for a child in primary education the cost is around €830 p.a. with secondary school costs coming in at a hefty €1,495.

With costs this high, it’s not surprising that almost three quarters of parents say the back to school spend is a financial burden, with 29% saying they will get into debt because of it. A survey conducted by the Irish League of Credit Unions found that a substantial one in four say they will be forced to deny their children basic school items this year because they cannot afford them.

Enniscorthy Credit Union has always been on hand to provide financial assistance to parents in our area as they try to manage these annual costs.
