Barntown in brilliant form
THE FINAL of the Rackard League Roinn ‘C’ camogie was between Barntown and Crossabeg-Ballymurn.
The scoreline doesn’t do justice to the gallant Crossabeg-Ballymurn team as they battled right to the very end of this exciting game in Innovate Wexford Park.
They were very competitive in the first-half with great displays from Emma Lawler, Chloe Murphy, Emma McCarthy, Eibhlín Moran, Caoimhe Whelan and Sinéad McGrath.
Unfortunately for them, they met powerful, talented Barntown players who would have acquitted themselves well in the Roinn ‘B’ grade. The Sinnott sisters, Josie Mullen, Olivia Garnett and the ubiquitous Robyn O’Connor gave excellent displays.
The half-time score was Barntown 1-4 to Crossabeg’s 0-1, and the latter were unlucky not to have chalked up a few scores that were near misses.
The second-half belonged to Barntown and the excellent display of Robyn O’Connor marks her out as a potential star of the future.
The cup was presented to the joint captains, Olivia Garnett and Sidhi Sinnott, by the Rackard League Chairman, Kevin Waters.
