Glynn girls get tough job done
Clonroche tried very hard
GLYNN GOT the better of Clonroche in the Rackard League Roinn B camogie county final in St. Patrick’s Park, Enniscorthy.
Weather conditions were sunny with a light breeze which benefited Clonroche in the first-half.
Leah Murphy opened the scoring with a point for Clonroche and, despite good attacking by both teams, scores were hard to come by due to resolute defending.
A point for Glynn by Emma Cullen was followed by a stunning goal from Hannah Kehoe. Alice Murphy goaled for Clonroche before exciting prospect Anna Sinnott scored the first of her fourgoal haul for Glynn.
Leah Murphy scored a goal for Clonroche just before half-time to leave the interval score Clonroche 2-1, Glynn 1-1.
Aided by a fresh breeze, Glynn upped their performance all over the pitch and Anna Sinnott scored a goal after three minutes to bring the teams level.
Clonroche put up sterling resistance but had no answer to the Glynn joint captain, Anna Sinnott.
Glynn had good performances all over the pitch, with a solid defensive set-up starting with goalie Emma Walsh, Shannon Codd, Niamh Walsh, Ellie Stafford and Ella Carley.
Joint captain Hannah Kehoe and her midfield partner, Emma Cullen, were dominant and the forwards led by Anna Sinnott put in great performances.
Clonroche tried hard until the end with good performances from Kate Flood, Erin McDonald, Leah Murphy, Alice Murphy, Kate French and Aoife Fleming.
The Roinn B Rackard League cup was presented to Glynn’s joint captains, Hannah Kehoe and Anna Sinnott, by Rackard League Chairman, Kevin Waters.
